The heartwood of this highly unusual wood is a light golden yellow with streaks of very dark brown to almost black to produce a Zebra stripped appearance. It has a coarse texture and is a hard and heavy timber. Used extensively as a veneer and decorative banding a highly decorative timber with a lustrous surface.
